A Gateway to the Alpilles
People come to Saint-Rémy for a specific reason—the market, Glanum, the light—and they stay for everything else. Centuries-old plane trees, peaceful terraces, and, just a ten-minute walk away, the ruins of a Gallo-Roman city dating back twenty-six centuries.
A village lively enough to spend several days in, yet small enough to make you feel right at home from the very first morning.
A place where old-world charm blends with village life, without ever giving way to one or the other.
In the Footsteps of a Genius
Vincent van Gogh painted nearly 150 paintings during the year he spent at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole monastery, including The Starry Night. A trail marked by reproductions allows visitors to follow in his footsteps all the way to the Romanesque cloister. Nearby, the archaeological site of Glanum—with its mausoleum, ancient arch, and thermal baths—is worth spending an entire morning exploring.
